Why businesses use Cawly

You can't answer every call. Your business can.

Customers call while you're working, after hours, and when nobody is available to pick up. Cawly makes sure those opportunities don't disappear.

  • When you're busy

Don't make your next customer call someone else.

Cawly answers when you're tied up, helps the caller, and captures the opportunity while it's still hot.

✓ Lead captured — Caller details saved

  • When you're closed

Your business doesn't have to stop answering.

Cawly can help callers after hours, on weekends, or whenever nobody is available to pick up.

✓ Caller helped after hours — Message and details captured

  • When you're working

Finish the job in front of you.

Cawly handles routine calls, gathers the details you need, and gets you involved only when necessary.

✓ Stay focused — Caller handled automatically

How Cawly does it

Most AI receptionists just answer. Cawly works toward your goals.

Generic AI phone bots read a script or guess. Cawly listens for what the caller actually needs, answers from facts you approved, and steers the conversation toward the outcome you picked: a qualified lead, a booked visit, or a sale.

  • Listens before it speaks. It waits for the caller to finish their thought. If they keep talking, it stops and listens instead of talking over them.
  • Answers from your facts. Replies come from your hours, services, and approved Q&A. When it does not know, it says so and takes a message instead of inventing a price or policy.
  • Pursues the goals you set. Pick goals like capturing the lead, asking about a new service, or sending a payment link, or write your own. It works them in, in your order, without sounding scripted.
  • Acts while they are on the line. With your apps connected, it books on your calendar, opens a job, texts or emails a payment link, or alerts your team.

  • What the caller needed. The reason for the call and the questions they asked, in plain language.
  • How to reach them. The name and callback number the caller shared.
  • What to do next. The follow-up the caller is expecting, so you call back with context.

Sample call summary · simulated call, fictional caller

  • Caller: Liam Walsh
  • Callback number: 555-0142
  • Reason for call: Replace old pipes in the home
  • Asked about: How replacement works, how long it takes, and how to schedule an inspection
  • Outcome: Callback requested — no appointment booked
  • Next action: Call Liam back to schedule the inspection

Try it before you forward your business calls.

  1. 1. Add your business. Enter your business name, industry, and website. Cawly scans your site for hours, services, and FAQs, then asks follow-up questions.
  2. 2. Make a test call. Claim a Cawly number, and Cawly calls your mobile so you can hear your greeting, ask questions, and check the summary.
  3. 3. Choose your coverage. When you are ready, forward the calls you want Cawly to handle using your carrier's forwarding code.

You keep your existing number. No porting or new hardware is needed.

Forwarding only when you are busy or do not answer depends on your carrier and phone system.

Keep the job in front of you moving.

  • Emergency or a quote. Cawly captures the issue. It transfers only when you have set a transfer number and described what counts as urgent.
  • The details a callback needs. Name, number, address, and what is leaking or broken — written into the summary.
  • After-hours requests. Review what came in while you were closed, then call back with context.

The sample on this page is a simulated call for a sample business. Nothing is booked on that recording.

Where your call data goes

Cawly runs speech recognition, its language model, and voice generation on infrastructure it controls rather than sending call content to external AI model APIs. Your telephony carrier and any apps you connect still process the data they need to work. Read how we handle data

How a call moves through Cawly

  1. Your caller. Routed by your phone carrier.
  2. Cawly-controlled infrastructure. Speech recognition, Language model, Voice generation.
  3. Your dashboard and connected apps. Summaries and transcripts go where you send them.

External AI model APIs: not in the call path.

Questions before you start

Can I keep my current number?

Yes. Callers keep dialing your existing number. You forward it to your Cawly number with your carrier's forwarding code. No porting or new hardware is required.

What details does it capture?

The caller’s name and number when they share them, the reason for the call, and a summary and transcript in your dashboard. You can ask it to collect an address and the type of issue during setup.

Can urgent calls reach the on-call tech?

Yes. Set a transfer number and describe what counts as urgent. Cawly follows those rules; it cannot recognize every emergency, so keep the rules specific.

What if I do not answer a transfer?

If the transfer cannot be placed, Cawly asks the caller for a callback number. When a transfer rings your phone and you do not pick up, your phone’s own voicemail settings apply.

What does the demo include?

Creating a demo starts the Free plan: add your business details, claim a Cawly number, and Cawly calls your mobile so you can hear it. No card is needed to start.

Which plans book appointments?

Starter and above can book into a connected calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook, or Calendly). Starter includes 1 connected app, Growth 3, and Pro unlimited. Basic has no connected apps. Without a connected calendar, Cawly takes a callback request instead.
